This week my companion, Elder Wang Soljen Shuangzhe, and I were asked to attend the funeral of one of our branch members who recently passed away due to cancer. As I listened to the wonderful stories of her life and felt of the love her family had for her as well as their pain at loosing her I realized something; I realized just how grateful I am for the knowledge I have of our Heavenly Fathers plan for us as restored through a modern day prophet. In Heavenly Fathers plan for us we learn that death is not the end. We learn that death is a necessary step in His plan and that we will once again be with our loved ones. While this does not fully eliminate the pain we feel, it brings peace, comfort, and we find we are able to let the sting of death be swallowed up in Christ (Mosiah 16: 8).
