This week on Gracepointes... Have you ever noticed in the Word - TopicsExpress

This week on Gracepointes... Have you ever noticed in the Word that people were required to do something before they received something? So many want God to do everything while they do nothing. That type of attitude results in nothing from God. Think about this for a moment. Human action comes before divine intervention. The miraculous always arrived after they were told to do something. You want the Red Sea to part, Moses? Then you must take the rod given to you by God and stretch forth your hand (Exodus 14:16). Nothing was going to happen until Moses took action. From crossing the Red Sea to calling down fire from heaven to crossing the Jordan River, to winning a battle. There was always human action before divine intervention. Jesus healed and blessed many. But He always told them to do something, Go wash, go tell, rise up, take up your bed and walk. You have a withered hand? Then stretch it forth. The woman with the issue of blood knew if she could touch His garment she would be healed (Matthew 9:20). The word must have gotten out about what happened to her and how she was healed. This occurred in Matthew 14:36. “And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.” They did something; they touched His garment and then they were healed, not before. The point is clear in these passages and many others like them. Next time you read about all these wonderful works of God in the Word, take notice of the surrounding set of circumstances that led to the miracle. You will see that human action happened first, and then God acted in His power to meet needs. Think about what you need from Him today. What action have you taken? Have you obeyed all that He has told you to do? Are you following His precepts and principle? Or are you just sitting around waiting on Him to intervene in your life? He may be waiting on you. And that is the point this week on Gracepointes. Pastor Ron Zimmer
