This week, the Attorney General, Eric Holder, brought up an important topic. Former felons cant vote, or serve as a juror, according to the laws of most states. In some states, this means more than 1/5 African Americans are unable to cast a ballot (Florida, Virginia and Kentucky). Holder is urging states to repeal such laws, designed for disenfranchisement during the reconstruction era. What do you think? Is it time for these laws, and others of the same ilk, to be lifted?
