This week the food bank has benefitted greatly from a MCHS high school sophomore. The young man is working towards his Silver Cords hours. He went to the grocery store to load and unload food, came back and helped with the inventory and restocking of shelves. He is even going with the crew on Tuesday morning to help pickup our Food Bank of Iowa order. Nice to have a young man who is strong physically but also strong in his desire to help others. Hope that he tells others about his experience and that we get a few more students to help us during the summer months. That really helps take a burden off some of our volunteers. Many of our volunteers are up their in years and the physical work is more than many can do, including myself.
