This week we completed week 2 of our 4 week series on the topic of “RESPECT”: Showing Others They Are Important by What You Say and Do. Students discovered Romans 13:1-5 where Paul writes to the new believers in Rome. It wasn’t always easy living under Roman leadership, but Paul gives them encouragement and reminds them that God put those people charge for a reason. Students then experienced a very smelly and messy visual metaphor with rain gear and an umbrella representing healthy boundaries in our lives created from those who have authority over us. We then removed these boundaries and assessed how well things would work out for us if we disregard boundaries in our lives. Our Bottom Line Is: Respect those who are in charge.
