This weekend I joined some of the top coaches and business owners in the country for a weekend mastermind. …and yes, we are human and DID have a few beers :) But over the course of 2 full, tough days of learning and implementing new strategies there was just ONE central concept that we all kept coming back to. You can either choose to be successful OR choose to be average It’s really that simple. Yet all your mind will do is think of hundreds of ways that you can’t do something, or give you mental barriers that DON’T EVEN EXIST! Things like: - I’m too old - I can’t afford it - My back hurts - My wrists have always been weak Guess what? YOU are making all that stuff up In fact, part of the mind makes this up out of FEAR and that does NOTHING to move you forward. So what I realised personally, was that when I procrastinate this is done out of fear of failure, or rejection, or being uncomfortable or a bunch of excuses that DON’T ACTUALLY EXIST anywhere but in my mind, so I make up excuses as to why I can put that uncomfortable thing off until tomorrow… … and we all know that tomorrow never comes and that thing never gets done. So what I’m really doing in these situations is choosing to fail. Choosing to be average. Anyway, I want you to really think about what is holding you back right now and then really be AWARE of the problems that your mind MAKES UP to hold you back. Then switch your thinking from problem-oriented to solution-oriented and live each day as if there is no tomorrow. Cos if you don’t, you’ll fail like the majority of the people around you and you will be AVERAGE. F**k that! Be awesome, work hard and succeed - or procrastinate, listen to your fears and be average (fail). The choice is yours!
