This weekend, brought a handful of questions, regarding self defense. Prevention is always your best defense. Knowing when youre in a position of vulnerability, and keeping your eyes OPEN during those time, is KEY to avoiding danger in the first place. This womans lucky she isnt dead... she violated the cardinal rule of NEVER go with an assailant. Along with NOT keeping her eyes open on her surroundings. She didnt recognize the THREAT coming at her, in time to just leave before the threat was in her face. THIS is why I consistently preach 360 awareness of your surroundings... who is in those surroundings and what they are doing. Because if you keep tabs on that... MOST of the time, you can circumvent potential attacks, BEFORE they even get started, by making calm decisions... like easing the car into gear and pulling away nice and smooth before the schmuck even gets near you. This applies to MEN as much as women. We guys get ourselves into trouble, too... in exactly the same way... called not paying attention. This could be a trucker at a quiet fuel island at zero-dark-thirty. This could be a trucker pulling into a dodgy parking space and getting ready to get out to go into the truck stop... you all already know WAY more about that, than I do. Keep your eyes open... watch for people who are on business other than the business the place is designed for... and use the power of choice wisely, before some criminal comes up and negates your power of choice. Its a nicer world with you in it. :)
