This weekend the Grantham red B team played against Boston B reds. The team consisted of Harry Chambers, William Leaning, Ava Holt and Imogen Clough. The team played some great tennis and it wasn’t easy considering the rainy, and extremely windy conditions. Unfortunately the team lost however enjoyed the day thoroughly and will gain experience from the match, which they can take into their next match in a few weeks’ time. Grantham’s Orange team played at home to Boston, Luke and Jake Cullen, Cameron Anderson and Jack Street were the players involved for Grantham. A very close game as 5 of the 8 singles played, went to 3 set tiebreaks and could’ve gone either way. Unfortunately, the tiebreaks went to the opposition and because of that lost 9-1. The boys played extremely well and on another day, could’ve won the match. The boys will be looking forward to their next match and hope to play as well in their previous match. Grantham Red A team played Deeping away this weekend and managed to get a 16-16 draw. The team consisted of Oliver Anderson, Josh Harris, Toby Cullen and Jack Butler. The team played well in the tricky conditions and footwork had to be to a high standard. This weekend, Grantham’s green team faced a strong Deeping side away from home. The team consisted of James Peace, Elliott Fisher, Aaron Fleckney and Martha Patton. The team played some great tennis considering the difficult weather that they had to play in and managed to get a comfortable win 5-3. The greens played well and will hope to play equally as well in their next match in a few week’s time. The 14&U Boys played at home this weekend to a strong Boston side. The team consisted of Joe Patton, Lewis Picker, Adam Tapson and Aaron Jones. The boys played some great tennis winning 3 out of the 4 singles and winning both the doubles. An extremely comfortable win for the boys and they will hope to play this well all season and finish as high in the league as possible. The boys will be looking forward to their next match in a few weeks time.
