This weeks Forgotten Hit Record is from this time in Senior Year 1968, on the charts at #2 on CKLWs Big 30---it is by a teenage Memphis electrician and truck driver who had his first hit when we were 3 yrs old...he survived being drafted and sent to Europe in the 1950s, he survived the Twist fad in 1960 and then the Folk Music fad of the early 1960s, and he survived the British Invasion of 1964-67...he even survives now, as a hologram who actually goes on stage in this performance from a couple years ago....see if you recall this song from Christmas Vacation 1968, as LBJ wound down his term as President and Richard Nixon prepared to take office... youtu.be/UmXHkL3xiMU
