This week’s devotional thoughts will focus on Jesus’ last - TopicsExpress

This week’s devotional thoughts will focus on Jesus’ last week. Yesterday in worship we heard about Jesus’ bold but humble entrance into Jerusalem amid the shouts of “Hosanna” in order to fulfill His mission. It was time for Jesus to lay down His life, to hand it over on His own terms as was the Holy Trinity’s intent since the beginning of time. On Sunday Jesus went to the Temple and declared that His Father’s house of prayer had become a den of thieves. He spent Sunday night outside of Jerusalem. On Monday, today, He returned and in an unexpected act cursed a barren fig tree causing it to whither. The Temple, both on the inside and outside, as well as man’s being (inside and outside) was evidence of fruitless, loveless, God-less living. Judgment was coming, but alas, the One who ultimately will judge was there to suffer the judgment! Jesus who knew no sin became sin for us so we might become children of righteousness. Pastor S.
