This week’s focus is on spiritual warfare. Imagine being in the military and on DAY ONE, they send you overseas, RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF A WAR! As soon as you arrive, they issue you a weapon, but you have no idea how it works, but all you know is that you need it to survive. In many ways, this describes many Christians; while we celebrate people giving their lives to Christ, little do they realize that they have also enlisted themselves in the middle of a war….not physical but spiritual. If I’m in a war, then who is my enemy? Most people assume its other people. I’m at “war” with my boss, spouse, kids, co-workers, family members, friends, neighbors and more. My mission in these situations: “win” the argument at all cost. Make sure my point is heard. Make them realize how I feel in the situation. Win the “war” is how we’ve been trained….but at the end of the “battle” are scars and deep wounds that take time to heal…not because of guns and knives, no, the wounds came from words and actions. Who then is our real enemy? Ephesians 6:12 tells us: “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Family, our real enemy is not other people, but the spirit or force or powers that are influencing them. And the truth is, not only do these forces work in them, but at times they work in us too. The real enemy is the spirit that drives us to do things that do not honor God or show love to our neighbor. This is the real war, not just the ones in Afghanistan, Iraq or anywhere else. Think about it KEVIN SWANN MINISTRIES!
