I think it’s very important. Everyone goes on hiatus at some point; let’s face it, we all need a break every now and then. However, if you’re constantly making excuses to avoid writing, it stands a chance of falling by the wayside. I try my best to write every day, and one thing that’s helped is always relating the importance of doing that when I’m asked for advice. That way, if I’m failing to follow my own precept, I feel guilty, and I make more of an effort to get back to work.
