This will seem rather simplistic and naive to many, so please bear with me. But it seems to me Paul’s last resort to proper theology was his cry of 1 Cor 4:19-20. Here Paul starts: 1 Cor 2:4 “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of mans wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of (dunamis miracle) power: 5 that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the (dunamis miracle) power of God.” 2 Tim 3:5 “Having a form of godliness, but denying the (dunamis miracle) power thereof: from such turn away.” Other than the conversion of Paul, with dramatic force, and perhaps Zacchaeus with no force, there is not given in the New Testament the human transformation so often described in evangelical circles as the result of “salvation.” Now I have experienced and seen this transformation, but I find it nowhere highlighted in the New Testament. But Paul does talk about power demonstration as the confirmation of God of the message of God, like God did with Jesus. Not just in stirred hearts, but in miracles like Jesus and the apostles did, and we still see in the earth today. So, my question is, after I read all these books, will I be better able to operate in Mark 16:15-20 or 1 Cor 12-14, or Romans 12 or Luke 10:19? If after I fill my library with these books and cannot get my sick child, or your sick child, healed in the name of Jesus, or like Abraham, heal the whole harem of a heathen king, just what good are they? Will I have more confidence in the power of the name of Jesus when I confront the works of the devil, like the apostles did, after reading these books? I am not looking for a debate on whether or not God does miracles today like He did in the time of Jesus. Many are out there doing lots of good miracles in the name of Jesus; they are on YouTube for any to see or contact. The official medical term is “spontaneous remission.” We call it answer to prayer in the name of Jesus. What will help me move forward in this kind of miracle power? What I can say is that any of our Power Trilogy books seem to move anyone who works with them forward into this miracle power of God better than they were before.
