• This wounding of Jesus for our healing is described in the last two chapters of every gospel as part of the trial and crucifixion. The scourging, the lashing, the whipping, or the stripes is described in Matt 27:26; Mark 15:15 and John 19:1. There is no reference of the scourging or the crown of thorns in Luke. Likewise the piercing of the crown of thorns is mentioned in Matt 27:29; Mark 15:17 and John 19:2, 5. The beating after the crowning with thorns is mentioned in Matt 27:30, Mark 15:19 and John 19:3. The significance of this all this found in this Isa 53:5 and 2 Peter 2:24, and by inference in Matt 8:61-17 and Cor 11:29-30 for our healing unto the full blessing of God. Isa 53:5 “But he was wounded for our transgressions (willful sin acts), he was bruised for our iniquities (sin thoughts, actions and the curse due): the chastisement of our peace (poverty, impotency, confusion, lack, weakness, loneliness, depression, bad family, and misery due for sin) was upon him; and with his stripes (tearing, cutting or breaking of His physical body/flesh, primarily at the whipping post) we are (physically) healed (physically made whole, mended and repaired to the original intent of God, and blessed to the level of heaven on earth in every aspect of life for all, from the individual to the nation).”
