This year has been a roller coaster. Bad things do happen, how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my losses, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have --life itself for one BUT, the number one in everything is God. Weakness of attitude becomes weakness of character. This New Year I want to have MORE integrity, honesty, kindness, generosity, moral courage, and to treat others better than myself. Knowledge gives you power but character gets you RESPECT! Ive been athletic for so many years, and will continue to do so of course BUT, being an athlete will fade like many things. Character and integrity and really making an impact on someones life, thats the ultimate vision, thats my ultimate goal. My life has had a series of experiences, each one of which has made me stronger, even though sometimes it was hard to see it. Setbacks and grieves have helped me move forward. Today I am more concerned about character than reputation because character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are. They say that hardships often prepare you for an extraordinary destiny. Well Im ready! God has a way of picking a nobody and turning their world upside down, in order to create a somebody that will remove the obstacles they encountered out of the pathway for others. Shannon Alder* I have been blessed with many gifts and God has been molding me. Learning to discern things of true value from those of little or no worth is part of the process. In my world I know it took trials to make me a little more Beautiful and useful. Through the struggle I have learned an important lesson. . .ready? One of the most critical decisions made in my life is choosing with whom to spend my time. For it was those close relationships that gradually helped mold my character until I became a reflection of my companions. Thank you to my Father in heaven first and foremost.
