This young womans lyrical ability to put into song the traumatic, experience she, or someone she knows has gone through, brought forth a plethora of emotion. Rage: At the prick that treats people like this, and then uses that persons trust, love, and dependency, to keep them in this cycle of abuse. Sorrow: That she went through this. Pity: That it took her going back so many times to realize that she was in a cycle that so many other people find themselves in. Optimism: That she was finally able to see him for what he was, --- A cowardly abuser. And also see her situation with him, for what it was. --- Hopeless. Respect: for her to assess her own situation and her and her childs worth, to have the courage to choose to get them both out of the cycle of violence. Awe: that she was able to so eloquently put down into words her plight, so that others may see and learn that just because you are in a bad situation DOES NOT mean you have to stay there. Wish I knew her name so I could tell her how her words touched me, because we all know or knew, someone in her situation. May God bless and keep you safe.
