Thomas M. “Buziak” Lautner Thomas M. “Buziak” Lautner, 50, of Villa Rica, Ga., passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at his home after a lingering illness. He was born on Dec. 3, 1962, in Bad Axe, to Robert Lautner and Judy (McCarty)(Lautner) Freel. Tom attended Ubly High School. He worked on Texas Oil rigs and installed underground cable throughout the southern states. He operated heavy equipment constructing sub-divisions, until his health failed. While in Michigan, he enjoyed working and socializing with local farmers. He was a great communicator. With his colorful language, he loved to debate issues and share his opinions with family and friends. His phone was his constant companion which enabled him insight to the Michigan and North Carolina news and for his frequent pranks. Tom enjoyed target practice and gun collecting with his son, Mark. He also enjoyed woodworking, his John Deere lawnmowers and hats and the family dachshund, Hunley. Tom is survived by his lifetime companion, Sandy Jung; his son, Mark C. Lautner, both of Villa Rica, Ga; his father, Robert (Marilyn) Lautner of Palms; his mother, Judy (Duane) Freel of Ubly; sister, Monica Tibbits and special friend, Doug Van Sickle of Deckerville; brother, Michael R. Lautner of Palms; sister, Robin Deacons and special friend, Bob Young of Bad Axe; brothers, Chris Lautner of Swannonoa, N.C., Frank (Carey) Lautner of Minden City, Bobby Lautner of Swannonoa, N.C., Bradley Lautner and special friend, Terri of Swannonoa, N.C.; his aunts and uncles, Ilene (Carl) Franzel, Bill (Bev) McCarty, Paulette McCarty, Mary (Gate) Bigras (Godparents), Terry Block, Alan (Kathryn) Lautner, Sara Lautner, Gerald (Vicki) Lautner, Jack (Deb) Lautner; many nieces, nephews, cousins, step-sisters and step-brothers; and his second parents, Sharon and Bud Pallas. He was preceded in death by infant sister, Janis J. Lautner; his grandparents, Mark and Josephine McCarty and Charles “Floyd” and Mary Lautner; uncles, Francis Lautner (1968 Vietnam) and Charles Lautner, Jr. Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Argyle. The Rev. Charles Hammond, pastor of Good Shepherd Parish will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery in Freiburg. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday morning at the church Memorials have been requested to the family discretionary fund.
