Thomas S. Robinson November 29, 1937 - August 14, 2011 He was born November 29, 1937 in Portsmouth, NH the son of the late Scott and Clarice (Heartz) Robinson of York, Maine. He was a graduate of York High School, Fryeburg Academy and the University of Maine. He also attended Stonehill College and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged with meritorious honors. He worked his way up the corporate ladder to become the president and CEO of Robus Leather Products in Madison, Indiana, one of the largest leather companies in the world. While working at Robus he visited over 20 countries and most of the United States. He founded Bonded Leather International in Biddeford, Maine, after his retirement. After selling BLI in 2008, he traveled extensively throughout the United States. He enjoyed fishing trips with his sons to Rangeley, Maine, and as far away as New Mexico. Tom was known for his quick wit, colorful remarks and sense of humor. One of his favorite singers was Hank Williams and his high school classmates and friends remember him coming to class singing “Jambalaya.” In high school he played football until he decided work was more important. Tom was always known as a hard worker, up at the crack of dawn, a work ethic he maintained throughout his life. Tom was an avid reader of both fiction and nonfiction. He had a particular interest in theoretical physics.
