Those of u who know me best know that Im not very domesticated. Im not much of a cook. My house is always a work in progress. U saw my swimming pool! However, years ago I bought a sewing machine. Not to sew new clothes but to make dog bandanas. Yeah u read that right. That endeavor didnt last long and fell to the wayside when I discovered that a dog bandana can simply be made by cutting a triangle out of material...no sewing needed...just a pair of scissors. So the machine sat for yrs gather dust until last spring when I decided I would make new pillow covers for my moms couch while I was in Indy redecorating her house. That project actually went well. After breaking 4 needles and spending many wee morning hrs doing the covers I discovered that I enjoyed sewing and the pillow covers looked decent. So this summer I embarked on another sewing endeavor - to make new covers for our lawn furniture that are pretty beat up. So after 10 hrs and some instruction and advise from my neighbor Rebecca L. W. Thomas I finished my first seat cover!! Its not perfect and u can definitely tell its not store bought but its all mine. Now all I have to do is finish the other 20 cushions and 15 throw pillows! Im thinking this might be a two-summer project now!! (Here are before and after pics)
