Those of you that know Bella and I know that she is an old soul. She has always been wise beyond her years (yes I know she is only 4). She always wants to know why something it what it is or how it became or works. Well yesterday, before my stupid wasp ordeal, I got to teach her about generosity. I am a couponer and have been for a few years. I have had the great fortune of stock piling things extremely cheap or free. I couldnt sleep Thursday night, and I felt compelled to go through my closet where I keep my stash of personal hygiene products and pulled out tons of stuff that it would take my family a lifetime to use. Shampoos, conditioners, body wash, soap, deodorants, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine products and much more. Yesterday morning I loaded 3 boxes of stuff into my truck, buckled Bella in and took her to our local Mission. I explained that there were people that lived there because they couldnt find a job or didnt have a warm place to sleep at night and that there were also mommies with kids there. I told her to always remember to do for others in need anytime you can because even though we are fortunate enough to not have to want for anything, one day our lives could be turned upside down and we could be on the receiving end of someone elses generosity. And as the gentlemen unloaded the boxes from the truck and the director thanked us graciously Bella looked at me and asked me when we could bring more stuff to help the people that live there. My heart smiled.
