Those of you who are caring for your aging parents will relate to this. My Mom & Dad are approaching their 80s and in the past few years Ive witnessed how health issues and the grief & depression of losing a child has crushed their spirit and made their day-to-day existence sadly empty. Ive been there with them through it all...and Ive had to face the fact that my desire to take care of everything for them far outweighs my abilities to do so. The brutal reality of it is I am doing this on my own. Its a frightening path Im going down. Ive become a different person because of it. I cant say for sure where my strength & composure comes from these days...but there has to be an angel on my shoulder helping me keep my sanity intact when things at home are unraveling. God bless my friends & co-workers who are always close-by when I need them. God bless my brother Jamie...who has to worry about Mom & Dad from a distance, which I know cant be easy on him. We both adore Mom & Dad more than words can ever express. They have always given us their all...and now its our turn.
