Those of you who know me know that every October I post about Domestic Violence, as October is Domestic Violence Prevention Awareness Month. I post things about DV be it songs, poems, stories or messages that I feel touch the heart, soul and minds of those of us who have survived DV, witnessed DV or know of someone who may be suffering from, died from or has lived through domestic violence. I feel that it is more than just sheer coincidence that October, my birth month, happens to be DV Awareness month. I feel that it is my souls purpose to continue to speak with a DETERMINED VOICE, as a survivor, against such atrocities against humanity. I will continue to speak with a DETERMINED VOICE until my last breath on earth or until DV is stomped out forever...so to start my month of postings, in memory of all those who have suffered, continue to suffer or have lost their lives to DV let me start with paying tribute to those who continue the fight against this war with a new song by The Script called Superheroes...I personally find it to be fitting and I dedicate it to organizations such as HAVEN, TURNING POINT, COVENANT HOUSE and others across this country that fight this war every day...thank you for your hard work and dedication in helping to educate and come to the aid of those who suffer silently behind closed doors called home and at the hands of those that claim to love them....LOVE SHOULD NEVER HURT!!!
