Those that know me know that I am a huge unapologetic U2 fan.Always have loved them & always will. Now while I dont think that Songs of Innocence is by any stretch their best work, I dont understand the immense backlash against them. Is a free album really that intrusive? Its not like you had to pay for it, download it or even listen to it. Ive come to the conclusion that U2 are the James Cameron of music. James Cameron has written and directed the 2 highest grossing films of all time (Titanic & Avatar) yet for some reason you cant find a single person that admits to liking either one of them (even though most of those people saw the two films in the theater multiple times....not for free). Rest assured however, next time Cameron releases a film, which will just so happen to be a sequel to Avatar, itll be somewhere on that list of top grossers. Im not sure I understand what is so wrong with liking U2 (or Avatar for that matter). Is Bonos charity work that irksome? Are The Edges hats that bad? Does no one know who the other 2 guys are? I dont get it. What I do know however, is when they tour this album next year there wont be an empty seat in the house and those who couldnt get tickets will be paying top dollar to buy them on stub hub. With that being said I look forward to seeing them live next year with a stadium full of people that hate them.
