Those who consider themselves as proprietors of the Hindu religion and want to make the country as a Hindu nation have utterly failed to grasp our culture and heritage. India was not great because we were Hindus at one point of time but because we kept humanity before religion. When we clung to our religion, our downfall became imminent. When we tried to preserve our race, we exploited our own people, weakened our nation. What the BJP or the RSS is trying to do is an utter nonsense. Instead of consolidating on religious lines, our focus should be on the cultivation of secularism and tolerance. Rather than a militant Hindu, I would like to be a mild Hindu.
