Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11 The path of life doesn’t end with death; that’s where it begins. Our short time on earth simply prepares us for eternity. The Psalmist reminds us that in God’s presence we will be filled with joy. At God’s right hand, we will experience true pleasure. Many people seek joy and pleasure from the temporal things acquired or achieved in this life. They seek in vain for material stuff that cannot fix our spiritual heart problem. The God-shaped hole in our heart cannot be fixed; it can only be filled by God. That filling comes when a person trusts in Jesus Christ as the one who paid the penalty for his or her sin on the cross. Jesus is the one and only remedy to our biggest problem and greatest need. Following hard after Jesus puts us on the path to true joy and eternal pleasure. ~~The Journey Devotional~~
