Though born as a slave But grew as a prince. An infant laid helpless in a basket. Left to float on a river of Egypt In time male babies were outlawed Only if begotten by Jews. A destined child drawn from water to palace. Like a lamb amids cub he grew With recessive jewish trait That burst out dominant When destiny came calling To lead the exodus of the people. The journey of the people of God Over mountains and down valleys. Out of slavery and torment. Heading into destiny of promise, A land gushing with milk and honey. A crowd of optimistic folks Led by Moses the starmerer. Surmounting all hurdles From vast spread of red sea upfront, Pharaohs fierce army behind. The hunger in the wilderness, The thirst in the desert. The victories memories of miracles In scary face of obstacles. The red sea made way, Spreading a carpet of dry ground, Enemy armies drown behind. The shower of manna and quails. All the way to freedom the marched. A song of victory they sang at last.
