**Thought For The Moment** Posted by Chelle Booker As the end of 2014 approaches & 2015 is set to begin I cant help but sit back & reflect on all that has happened this past year. As I do this I have to be honest & say for once I saw more tragedy & turmoil than I did triumph. So many of our young people lost their lives to senseless violence & foolishness. From the moment you hear of it or read about it it just bring pain & thoughts that no one who is a parent wants to bear. As I look at each situation & each family I see different upbringings for them all but no matter of those things I see profound love within each family. You have plenty of our young black men gunned down not only by police but by each other. Weve seen people get all in an uproar when its a white cop killing a black male but turn around & try to justify why the other black male had to kill his own brother. For the life of me I will never understand any of this & I know Im not alone. How about we talk sense to the younger generation & have them put down the bullets & pick up some books. Help them get an education so that they may fight back the legal way. How bout we stop throwing out the race card at every single incident & start throwing out knowledge, because if you take the time & look closely its not always about race sometimes its just pure ignorance, which stems from a lack of knowledge. I want to close out my last 2014 post with these words: I want to send out my condolences to all the families that lost a love one this year. Some I knew personally & some I knew in passing but either way they all touched my heart deeply as a mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, daughter, cousin or even as a close friend know that my prayers will continue to be with you all for years to come. My own Kirby/Bonner Family The Glenn/Ragland/Cook Families The Houston/Sims/Tinch Families The Person/Boddie/Smith Families The Britt/Stargell Family And for any others that may have lost a loving family member this year.
