Thought I might share the knife design I drew up for my medieval butcher knife for this fall. After quite a bit of research, it looks like the green river butcher style blade was very, very common...and then I added a handle shape that I like that I found on an original period blade... It has an 8 blade, made from 1/4 thick 5160...the handle will be made of bone (it will be antiqued) with brass pins (again very common)!
