Thought I will need to write something about Hangzhou, my lovely hometown, for all dear Aussie and other English speaking friends. Hangzhou is located east coast of China (120.2E, 30.3N), capital city of Zhejiang province, one of the cultually rich and economically affluent areas in the Yangze Delta, 200 km from Shanghai. The City was once Capital of the Song Dynasty (12-13th Century AD) and still preserved cultural landscape of the West Lake which is a UNESCO World Heritage. Sun Yang, the 2013 FINA World Champion in 1500m male freestyle and Ye Shiwen who won female gold medal in the 2012 Summer Olympics 400 metres and 200 metres individual medley are both born and trained up in Hangzhou. Zhejiang University is one of the top 3 universities in China and Alibaba, e-commerce business headquartered in Hangzhou has in 2012 handled $170 billion in sales, more than eBay and Amazon combined.
