Thought I would share with everyone that there are some very nice people in this world. Sunday the 21st was the last day of our newest Police dog class. So for graduation we went to the Mongolian BBQ in Kalamazoo. There were 6 of us dressed in different stages of Police K-9 wear as we had just finished a full 10 hour day of training. We had finished repeated trips to the grill and were sitting around debating desert when a gentleman approached our table. I had seen him with his wife and 2 kids as we had made our trips for food. He stated that he appreciated the work that we do and there were a lot of other people that felt the same way. He thanked us for the sacrifices we make and also the ones that are made by our families. He also told us to have happy holidays and to be safe. We shook his hand and thanked him for the support. As he turned to leave he said, To show my appreciation I paid half of your bill. We all stated that he didnt have to do that but he stated it had already been done and left. After he left we all discussed, not the fact that he paid for part of our bill, but the words of support he had expressed. My daughters Jill has paid the bill for police officers in line at Tim Hortons and I love her for it. Her upbringing in a police family is not the norm for most people and I dont think people would think about that kind of expression of thanks and appreciation like she does.. I know that I will personally stop and thank the next few Officers I see for the great job that they are doing. We do it for people in the military and I think its time we do it to for law enforcement officers. It has been a tough time for law enforcement and I think they need to know that we support them. I have been lax in this area and I plan to correct it. It only takes a minute and I know from the reaction at our table that it means a lot. Thats all I got.
