Thought for the Day Colorado used to have a robust timber - TopicsExpress

Thought for the Day Colorado used to have a robust timber industry that provided good jobs and also thinned some of the fuel in the forests that is now burning. What happened to that industry? I suspect that accessibility to the trees was limited to the point that the industry was starved to death. Why were the trees made inaccessible? I suspect that it was in response to the radical environmental demand that we not cut down another tree. Some fire is good for the environment, but it is sad to see so much waste that has resulted in the mass destruction of wildlife and will result in massive erosion. We can and should do a better job of managing our natural resources! J. Paul Brown
