Thought for the day (Friday, August 2nd) We’ve seen that prayer is an act of dedication, communication, supplication, and cooperation. James 5:16b The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Yesterday, I shared that prayers are not limited by time or space. When you pray it’s like sending a laser guided missile on behalf of someone or something and you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your living room, your car, your bed, your desk! When I pray for our missionaries my prayers are impacting Asia, Africa, Slovenia, Germany, and West Modesto, which means I’m having a humongous impact for the kingdom! Prayer is limitless in its power. People may reject your appeals, they may reject your arguments, they may even reject you as a person, but . . . they’re totally defenseless against your prayers! Listen carefully to me . . . behind every Christian superstar is a little-known person who prayed, and is praying, for that superstar. Beloved, my desire is for you to be a praying Christian because a praying Christian is a holy Christian. A praying Christian is a committed Christian. A praying Christian is an enthusiastic Christian. A praying Christian is a growing Christian. A praying Christian is a joyful and contented Christian. A praying Christian is a contagious Christian!
