Thought for today- Our Bodies- Part 2 Our bodies, or earthly - TopicsExpress

Thought for today- Our Bodies- Part 2 Our bodies, or earthly tents, are not the true you and me. Our true selves are hidden in our spirits, whether we are born again or not. Yes a Christian has Jesus in his or her spirit and an unbeliever has evil, but this isnt my point. My point is that our true identity is found in our spirits. For instance, some of you may see my seemingly crippled, uncontrolled body in a wheelchair with a funny looking chin pointer to tap on a voice box to talk, but I know that most of you see me in my spirit, the way that God sees me. The other day, I was actually flattered when a friend asked me to loan him $8000. Even though I couldnt loan him that kind of money, I was glad that he was blind to my disability. Indeed, he saw me in my redemptive state. He saw me as a new creation because of Jesus Christ. We all are spirits, souls, and bodies instead of the reverse order in our redemptive state. In other words, we as Christians have spirits that control our souls that is our mind, will, and emotions. Our spirits and souls resides in our physical bodies. This is the reason that our scripture says that we long to be clothed in our heavenly, mortal bodies. For our spirits with Jesus control our souls, the more our souls are in love with the Lord, the more we desire to see Him face to face. Our souls groan when we sin, not necessarily because we are condemning ourselves, but because through maturity we are so much in love with Him. The older that I become, I find myself not wanting to participate in sin because of my love affair with Jesus. By the way, Romans 8 says, there now is no more condemnation for those who are in Jesus Christ.
