Thought of the day: what ever happened to Brooks Chambers? In - TopicsExpress

Thought of the day: what ever happened to Brooks Chambers? In 2007, I played my first gig at a rock show with my first band, eastfield (Adam Georgia, Nathan Johnson, Ben Brown). We were (or at least I was) terrible and played mostly songs I had written in highschool. We played with this funny dude from Texas and his band. Hell probably never know it, but he taught me so much about being a musician through the few words he spoke to me, the fun he had at the show, and the genuine love you could see he had for playing music. His song Colour has been on my top ten song list for the past seven years. He came back to Charlotte the next year. Though our band had broken up by that point, we gathered all our friends and went to see him at Tremont. To this day, that was the best concert I have ever been to. I love Brooks Chambers songs, he writes beautiful melodies with movingly poetic lyrics. His EP is still for sale on ITunes and I greatly encourage every music lover to check it out. As far as I can find, he is no longer making music professionally - which I honestly believe is a great loss to humanity. I hope someday Ill be able to hear more of his songs and be at another show where he invites everyone to sit around him as he tells a story. Heres to a great musician and a fantastic performer.
