Thought-provoking quotes: Labor to keep alive in your heart that little spark of celestial fire-Conscience. - George Washington It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible. Do not ever let anyone claim to be a true American patriot if they ever attempt to separate Religion from politics. George Washington Good morning, the word for today is sparkle – to emit or reflect intermittent light. Precious jewels sparkle. Our Creator sits on the throne of heaven and sparkles. The angels that encircle that throne continuously fly around the throne –each seeing a different facet of our Lord – so beautifully sparkling that the angels can only say “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty – Heaven and earth are full of the glory of the Lord!” Our lives are designed to reflect the light of Jesus to the world! Often when I am walking, I will say scripture silently or out loud – it is like singing or whistling while I am in motion. Wednesday morning on the way to Holy Rosary Communion Service, I meant to say “This is the day that the Lord had made, I will rejoice and be glad in it (Psa. 118:24).” However, the words got mixed up and I said, “This is the Lord the day has made...” I laughed at my flipping the words but then I thought – the equation 2 + 2 = 4, the reverse is true 4 = 2 + 2. So our experiences through out the day do influence our perception of the Lord. It is like “stop and smell the roses;” if we stop to consider just how many time the Lord interacts with us, the closer we get to understanding the Lord’s relationship to us. Activities throughout the day may bring anxiety, fear or confusion, but when we see how God brings us through, those activities reveal a different side of God we have not known before. That day has made the Lord new to us! Let us rejoice and be glad! I took two young people with me to Jamaica – my son, age 9 and my whole youth group, a young girl name Jamie, age 14. Neither had flown before and neither had been away from the home much. Buddy had me as a support for him but what I did not know was that Jamie had never (NEVER) spent the night away from home, much less out of the country. I noticed that she was a bit nervous at the airport and she tried several times to reach her mom, her grandma, and/or her aunt to no avail. She told me later that she was in a panic to get someone to “rescue” her! She stuck like glue to me the entire trip, but the last night before we left, she said, “Miss Barbara, I am soooo glad I came because I found out that my God can protect me and take me through anything – God truly helped me – I did it!!! I was away from my comfort zone and God helped me!!!” Her countenance virtually sparkled! Those seven days were the days that “made” her Lord real to her! Let us rejoice and be glad!!
