Thought you all might appreciate this. I was doing genealogical research today and decided to go over to the online archives at the Office of the City Auditor. I couldnt find the Globe Hotel (what Im looking for). But I did find this: pictures of the house that the half-sister of my great-grandmother and her children lived in. According to census records, they also used it as a boarding house (my grandfather boarded there before he met my grandmother -- the house owners niece). It was condemned by the City and destroyed in 1949 or shortly thereafter. It once stood at 67 NE Broadway -- roughly where that Toyota Dealership is now. Photos belong to portlandonline/auditor/index.cfm?c=51811. I have no more information on the house, but sad to think that nobody saved it (also clear that it was in bad shape).
