Thoughts For Friday and Monday PLEASE READ! I HAVE A FAVOR TO ASK! I was working with my coach last Thursday. For those that do not have a coach, below is the format of how it works with my coach. We discuss the following: 1. Actions I committed to on my last call 2. Actions I have taken since my last call 3. Challenges experienced and / or insight gained since last call 4. Focus, expectations and / or support I want on our next call This call was all about me stepping up my health and fitness by working out on a daily basis. I am made a commitment to run in the Fleet Feet Sports Soldier Field 10 Mile on Saturday, May 24, 2014! Currently I am not in shape to run a 5K let alone a 10-mile run. soldierfield10 Consciously, I know what to do. I need to at least work out 30 – 60 minutes a day, a minimum of 5 days a week. Simple and makes sense. My nervous system has had a different plan since I committed to running in this race in January. I have made excuse after excuse about why I am not working out. Those excuses have been: I don’t have time I will start tomorrow I am not in that bad of shape I eat very healthy I have to take care of my kids I don’t want to wake the family up early in the morning I don’t want to keep the family up late at night I need to get some sleep I have two much on my plate right now I am not organized enough Again, consciously this is all bullshit! My nervous system feels this is all justified. So my coach and I came up with an idea. I have been very good at being vulnerable in sharing my history on the Internet. What I haven’t done is be vulnerable on an opportunity that I need to change right now! That is where all of you come it! I am making a commitment to everybody that I am connected to on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter that I will: Begin working out on March 21st, 2014. Work out a minimum of 5 days a week Work out anywhere from 30 – 60 minutes each day I work out If you are willing to hold me accountable, I ask that you like or comment on this post. I ask you follow up with me whenever you have time to check in and make sure I am walking my talk. I will also post updates weekly on my progress! Then I started thinking, what if I turned this into an opportunity for anybody that wants to meet an obstacle head on! Maybe your obstacle is not physical. Maybe your obstacle is a relationship, family member or an emotional, mental, spiritual or financial. Which brings me to this invitation: Who would like to join me in taking on an area of their life that they feel vulnerable, know they need to change, want to chance mentally but for whatever reason, has not made that change in their lives? If you do, please post and I am certain people will support you like I hallucinate they will support me. I know I will support anybody and everybody that is up for this challenge!
