Thoughts and Prayers go out to Dekalb PD with their loss. On September 20th DeKalbs first canine passed away. His health had declined and it was decided to let him go with dignity. K-9 Nick spent his last night surrounded by family, friends, and fellow K-9 handlers. He ate like a king, enjoyed some play time, and even sunk his teeth into one last bad guy. On the morning of September 20th he had steak for breakfast and his handler spent his last two hours alone with him where they played fetch and hung out in the yard. He perked up when he was given the reward tug that he earned so many times on the street. He was given one last spin by the toy and let him relax. He passed still holding the tug toy firm in his mouth. K-9 Nick will be missed! On September 20th DeKalbs first canine passed away.
