Thoughts from Chief Sjolander... Here is a life lesson... If you want to feel young, hang out with kids. I had the honor of sitting in with the Kenyon Wanamingo School Band this evening and played a song. I was there early, set up, and waited. I was very nervous, but the kids made me feel right at home...thank you! I spent my time there answering questions about my gear...not one cop question came up. It was so nice to have down time and visit about guitars and amps. My night was filled with hugs and hi-fives. I needed that. I was loading my gear back in our squad when the pager went off...back to reality. Im home now and reflecting about how much fun I had and how I liked showing a different side of me. Thank you all for supporting your schools. Thank you to the parents who make their kids play an instrument, and thank you, Ms. Larson for telling me you wanted a more metal sound and to turn it up:) Youre an amazing leader and you can tell how much your students enjoy and respect you.
