Thoughts on Furguson: I was going to keep quiet about my stance on this whole situation but here it goes. Its funny, I had to look up the name of the guy who got shot who started all of this, Michael Brown. You know why I had to look it up? Because I have hardly seen it in any of your, or people on Tumblrs post. The reason people looted and burnt down their own neighborhood (most from outside the neighborhood) was because they wanted a reason to riot. Not because of the death of one of their community members. You dont act like this unless you can get away with it. They saw opportunity and took it. Do I think Michael Brown was wrongfully shot? I dont know. Probably so, and that is terrible. And that cop should be the one to pay the price. Not every cop, not a whole city, not innocent bystanders. People have spoke about the dispatch that was leaked by anonymous, and how they sent for more cops before EMT. I know that if I were in their situation Id do the same. If the area isnt safe why would you send for EMT to be shot or brutalized? In the chaos Im sure it would have happened. The peaceful protest is what the situation needed, but it only takes a few hooligans to ruin a good thing by throwing things at the cops. You know that picture of the guy throwing the flaming tear gas back at the cops? You know how he has a bag of chips in his hand? Some people see that picture as a raw picture that will be on the cover of Time Magazine someday. and for me to not forget the reasoning behind the picture. You know what reasoning I saw? He was probably looting. Who brings out a bag of chips to a riot? He found/took them Im sure. Sure the picture looks cool. But the thought of those chips being stolen totally ruins the atmosphere for me. Cops (poorly) doing their job. And citizens not acting like human beings. Now, just like all of you I dont have all the facts. But from what Ive gathered from friends, media, and people directly affected, this is my opinion. In closing, do bad cops exist? Yes. Do terrible human beings who are looking for an easy buck exist? Yes. Do good people who want a change exist? Yes. Fact of the matter is there are four sides to this whole situation. The cops, the crooks, the protesters, and the rest.
