Thoughts on The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief Chapter I: The Eye - TopicsExpress

Thoughts on The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief Chapter I: The Eye of the Sphinx The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief Chapter I: The Eye of the Sphinx is the first part of a 3 part crime adventure game. Its an homage to mystery detective novels by Agatha Christie and the like. The immersive story lets you play as Constable Anton Jukob Zellner a man seemingly in over his head who finds himself tracking down The Raven a master thief on a train traveling across Europe in the early 1960s. The gameplay offers compelling detective work mixed in with puzzle solving and exploration. Unfortunately I cant say the same thing about the controls as they seem to be broken. Mind you this was a free download via Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) but unfortunately it doesnt work very well. On top of that the interface is frustrating and difficult to manage. I was told the game is a lot better on the PC so I recommend you play that version instead. Its also available on Steam if you like. In spite of that I had a great time playing this game and enjoyed the experience very much. The story and characters are quite worthwhile even with these flaws. As Anton Jakob Zeller you have a real character arc which allows you to grow into a capable investigator and that unto itself is a very satisfying gaming experience. You can give this game a try on the PC, Mac or Linux but dont bother with this version I played on the 360. Still up in the air if Im going to invest in the next chapter or not at this point. #videogame raven-game/en/home
