Thoughts on true Prophecy [more to follow in the week]: One of the reasons why things are going so chaotic in the corporate church is because of a lack of true and proper prophetic guidance. It is God’s order to raise up prophets who will speak the heart, mind and will of the Lord in order to guide the Church on the right course. “Amos 4: Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.” Many times, such guidance will involve correction or rebuking, but this should not be seen negatively, for we can only be truly blessed and walking in His glory when we are in alignment with His perfect will. The prophets in the Old Testament constantly spoke correction, but with the correction came the promise of restoration and blessing. If we are not willing to be corrected, then we run the risk of being out of the will or purpose or plan of the Lord, which is detrimental to our spiritual growth and journey. The devil, however, knows that when the prophetic is running efficiently and is established in the right order that he will have, literally, hell to pay, for then the Church will be guided in unity and in obedience to the perfect will of the Lord. A corporate united Church that is alignment with the plan and purpose of God every day is a Church functioning completely and utterly in the glory of the Lord. Talk about shaking the gates of hell! And prophecy and prophets are not extinct – the Church, however, treats it many times so, but this is the plan of the devil. Again, we have allowed false doctrines and ideas regarding these “watchmen” to sway us to treat the true prophets as if they were a leper colony! Again, it is because true prophecy has been at times rejected or even ignored or misunderstand, that there is not true and proper prophetic guidance which is so desperately needed in today’s times of apostasy and heresy. A prophetic guidance which is not functioning is the reason why the devil has done his utmost best to cause mass scale confusion when it comes to the prophetic. He has done so right from the early of days, and we see countless of times when the Lord rebuked the false prophets (for example Ezekiel 13). A false prophecy or a false word has the potential to enslave, to harm or to destroy. It causes confusion, disorientation and misdirection. Isn’t the devil the father of lies? Is he not the master of deception? So he has used false prophets [this includes primarily those who with purpose seek to sow false word as part of the devil’s agenda], and false prophecy [even true prophets can at times speak out of the imagination or the flesh] to misdirect, to confuse, to create a false sense of peace and to create the illusion that one is in alignment with the will of the Lord. If one takes hold of such a false word, you stand a chance of becoming spiritually disorientated. For example, someone tells you to take a certain job, and you take it as a prophetic word, but then it turns out to be false. Then the job taken is out of the will of the Lord. Think about this: anything spoken which is not the true word of God, is a form or manipulation [even unintentional], and therefore carries a negative spiritual connotation. It even has the ability to cause “death” on a number of levels. With the example given, a job taken out of the will of the Lord can have very negative implications financially, spiritually or even emotionally, which all fall into the category of “death” within a spiritual context. God comes to give us life and life in abundance, and such life is released and activated when we act upon His Word and embrace His Word in Spirit and Truth. Otherwise we embrace not life but death. And so, one sees a lot these days a lot of confusion surrounding prophecy, and a lot of false word and doctrines, simply because this is the plan of the devil. There is a lot of misunderstanding what is a true prophet, about the office of the prophet, the gift of prophecy and the other gifts of the spirit. And funny enough, those who are trying to correct such misinformation with true prophecy are often being ignored or dismissed! When true prophecy is restored, meaning an acceptance and a proper understanding of this office and also the gift, then the Church will be guided in life, and not in death. More comment on this subject to follow. Amen
