Three-Year-Old Passes Away as Family Fights for Med Marijuana - Three-year-old Olivia Marie Newton had a contagious smile, but behind that smile was an illness that made her short life a constant battle. She suffered from a seizure disorder that doctors could not identify, only telling her family that it was some sort of epilepsy. Olivia had near-constant seizures, sometimes as many as 100 per day. The disorder also left her blind and with permanent brain damage. Last month, Olivia’s grandmother Sue Newton told 2 On Your Side News that neurologists said the condition had worsened so much that her next seizure could take her life.
