Three government officials of the education department have been booked by Vigilance Organization for allegedly misappropriating government funds under Surva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) in North Kashmir last year.Sources said Sajad Hussain Mir former Warden Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidiyalaya (KGBV) Boniyar, Khalid Hussain, former Zonal Education Officer and Mehraj-u-din then Head Clerk of ZEO office in Boniyar jointly hatched a conspiracy and abused their official position by misappropriating an amount of Rs. 25,28,445 out of the allotted funds of Rs. 62,18,519 meant for the various activities of of the school in North Kashmirs Uri.Vigilance Organization in its inquiry has revealed that the accused illegally transferred this amount to their personal and relatives bank accounts after withdrawing it fraudulently from the government treasury.The trio has been booked vide FIR number 29/2014 and formal case has been registered against them.
