Three local militants killed in Tral encounter Srinagar, June 19: At least three militants were killed in South Kahsmir’s Buchoo area of Tral town in Pulwama district on Thursday when government forces fired upon a group of militants who were on a move from Buchoo to Laidyar. Sources told that police station Awantipora received inputs that a group of militants are supposed to move from Buchoo to Laidyar, Army personnel from 3 RR and other Para-military troopers laid an ambush near Buchroo. Sources added that after spotting the militants, the government forces targeted them which resulted in a fierce encounter. The encounter lasted for half an hour. Government forces pressed chopper into service to trace the militants. Reports said that during the encounter three militants were killed. Government forces launched a massive search operation in the area to trace the other militants who according to sources managed to fled from the spot.
