Three months ago now my world was changed, when William Leith passed away. For those of you who dont know he collapsed beside me at the gym and all with other untrained people attempted to revive him with no luck. No this status is not about me having a cry, but for the last three months i have not gone a day where i have not blamed myself for a part of his death, i didnt know CPR, my only knowledge was pre convinced ideas based around media and what i had heard around me. Yesterday and today i attended my first First Aid Course, as i was listening to her speak about how to treat everything the question i was asking myself if i had done that would he still be here? You cant say to anyone who has been through what i went through that life is life, or its not your fault he would not of survived anyway, that does not take away the feeling of guilt. I know have a strong conviction to make sure that no one in our country is left with the feeling that they could of done something more. Because as much as you say you;re okay, youre not and that day will haunt me forever, but now i am on a mission to make it compulsory in all schools, every 2 years to teach the students basic first aid training. Although many people will never have to use it, i did, i didnt think i would be the one but i was, so you might be too. I am going to form a petition to give to the ministry of education addressing this idea, in memory of not only William but all the other people that might of been saved if there were people who knew what they were doing and all the people that are found in the difficult situation being people collapsing, car crashes, anything. Please like it if you would sign this petition. Everyone should have basic first aid training and knowledge. Thank you :)
