Three questions you should be asking during the interview process - TopicsExpress

Three questions you should be asking during the interview process about the job: 1. Why is this position open? It is absolutely important to ask this question. Was the position newly created, did someone leave voluntarily or were they let go...understanding the landscape helps to determine if this is a good fit for you. Never assume that the grass is greener on any side of the fence. Only where you choose to water it. 2. May I see a job description? Job postings are summaries of a position. Make sure you see all the relevant details before accepting a job offer. Its important for your satisfaction in the end. People sometimes forget that they neglected to go over information especially if they have interviewed a number of candidates. Be prepared with all relevant information in regard to the job you are interviewing for. 3. What are the short term and long term goals for this position? This question helps you gauge if the position and/or the company is right for you. If you want a well established plan and strategic goals from a company and they cant be articulated during an interview, then it may not be the right fit for you. No matter how much money the job pays. Its about the big picture and how you fit in. Dont undervalue this question. It can tell you more about the company than you think. Look for more questions tomorrow as it relates to supervision and autonomy.
