Three years ago on this day, Dennis Ritchie passed away, but that was barely noticed as his death was overshadowed by the passing away of Steve Jobs who had also died in the same month. Ritchies contributions shaped technology that we have today in magnitudes that would put him in every list that includes people like Turing, Babbage, Bool and Neumann. He deserves way more credit and attention than other apparently iconic figures in technology, especially over the Apple Hero who rode his way by stealing lots of ideas and claiming them as his.
