Three years ago today I was in dress rehearsal ALL DAY with Anita Brown Jazz Orchestra, in preparation for the World Premiere of Stand: A Symphony for Jazz Orchestra, aka Stand Symphony scheduled for 9/10/11. This week we mark the 13th year of that ominous day, 9/11/01. In 2011 I premiered my large-scale work honoring all victims, first responders, all who answered the call to arms as well as our collective grief as a nation. It is an account of the American experience in 5 movements for my band, Anita Brown Jazz Orchestra into which I wrote The United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, from Washington, DC, representing ALL first responders in the scope of the piece entitled *Stand: A Symphony for Jazz Orchestra* This is the contiguous playlist of the work, composed so as to be accessible even to the I dont like jazz folks.
