Three years ago today, life as I lived it was instantly changed due to the death of my husband. With the guidance of God, I quickly realized that the power of choice was at my disposal. Suddenly I discovered that life was shorter than Id previously thought. So with this in mind, I set out on a quest to become a better me. You see, as long as we have life connected to our flesh, we are choices away from our destiny. In case you didnt understand, I said, as long as you are breathing, change is only choices away from your grasp! I admit that Im far from the finish line, but Im no where in the vicinity where I started. Tragedy can make or break us; Misfortune can encourage or discourage us; and Loss can either motivate us or leave us without. However the case, one thing is true of them all, they all require movement. What ever your loss may be, make the pain count for something! Choose to move in the right direction! In no way am I rejoicing over my loss, but I acknowledge that Im a very different woman because of it. And because Im so sure that Howard is resting in peace, today I refuse to mourn, instead Im celebrating. Happy Third Birthday to Me! Change one choice at a time! Live a life of substance, a life of purpose. Refuse to Settle! Make choices that will lead you into your destiny. And live your life in such a way that your death will be the beginning of a legacy...
